The Duta Awam Foundation (YDA) is a
non governmental organization which focuses its activities to advocate farmers’
problems. YDA was established in 1996 by some NGO activists and journalists.
Since its inception, YDA has proven
that advocacy which is based on participatory research -carried out by the
subject experiencing the problem- has a very good basis. It could happen
because they know the most of the problem and its dynamics, therefore if they
do the research themselves they will certainly be able to develop the best
basis for advocacy.
In
realizing the vision of the organization, YDA works together with both domestic
as well as international parties that have the same concern, through direct and
indirect relations that are not binding, through a network or
inter-organizational relations. The varied relationships built by YDA are hoped
to be able to create a strong synergy to achieve the desired vision.
